Betty J. Petty
Betty Petty, 91, of Muscatine, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at Pearl Valley Care Center, Muscatine.

Funeral services will be 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 8, at Jesus Mission, Muscatine. Burial will be in the Island Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church. Nichols Life Tribute Funeral & Cremation Services, Muscatine, is caring for Betty's family and services.

Betty was born January 19, 1926, the daughter of Albert and Johanna Christophersen Newton. She married Donald Clinton Petty in Muscatine, in 1962.

She had worked as a cook at Muscatine General Hospital and Johny's Grill. Betty enjoyed family get-togethers and fishing. She was a wonderful cook, loving mother and the family caretaker.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include sons, Randall Petty of Muscatine, David (Roberta) Garner of Colorado; daughters, Sandy (Jerry) James of Fruitland and Karen Knott of Arizona; thirteen grandchildren, Kendra (Chad) Lee, Karrie (Jeff) Roby, Lyndsey Harsch, Sarah (Ryan) Watson, Melissa (Matt) Randleman, Chelsey (Ben) Gonzalez, Robert (Stephanie) Newton, Michelle Singleton, Christopher Newton, Christian James, Kathryn (Chris) Winn, John (Kristen Corral) Wieneke and Michelle (William) Kirk; and thirty great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Denny Newton and Joel Roushenberger, brothers, Bobby and Frank, and sisters, Leona, Della and Erma.
