Obituary for Louran Francis Mullen

Louran F. Mullen, 90, of Muscatine, passed away Sunday evening, November 13, 2016, at his home.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Nichols Life Tribute Funeral and Cremation Services, Muscatine, is caring for the arrangements.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until service time Tuesday, at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Louran Mullen Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.lifetributeservices.com.

He was born July 10, 1926, in Brooklyn, IA, the son of Darrell B. and Bethel G. Graham Mullen. He married Wava J. Dillon September 2, 1948, in Ottumwa, IA. She preceded him in death. He then married Patty D. Manley Cooper December 30, 2001, in Muscatine.

He retired after 36 years with Rock Island Lines and served with the Muscatine County Sheriff Patrol. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, White Shrine and Order of the Eastern Star.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his wife, Patty; children, Thomas (Todd Muma) Mullen of Germantown, WI, Gayle (Joseph Victory) Beverlin of Oklahoma and Pamela (Patric) Grim of Muscatine; step-children, Diana (Dave) Wilson and David (Judy) Vance; grandchildren, Michael, Ben, Adam, Jacob, Sarah and Laura Grim, Ivy Hamill, Donald Foor and Jennifer (Scott) Bishop; three step- grandchildren; and several great grandchildren; one brother, Fred Mullen of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Wava, one brother, two sisters, one nephew, two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law.
